Our school day starts at 8:50am and finishes at 3.30pm. The doors are opened at 8:45am and registration is from 8.50am to 9.00am. Registers close at 9.15am. We appreciate that whilst these timings are acceptable for the majority of our families, please do not hesitate to contact the school office if you are having difficulties and we will work with you to make special arrangements.
Three times each week at 9am all children have a 'brain wakeup' and a quick burst of exercise during our 'Wake and Shake' so that we are ready to start the day.
At 10:45am all children head out to play. We have separate playgrounds - one for Foundation and Key Stage 1 and one for Key Stage 2. Lessons resume at 11:00am.
Lunch is at 12noon until 1.10pm. The children head out to play for the first 15 minutes, then come back into the main hall to eat their lunch. They then return to the playground for the last 30 minutes.
Foundation and Key Stage 1 children have an afternoon break from 2.45pm - 3.00pm.
We end the day with assembly which starts at 3pm. Assembly content varies, we have:
For our Foundation and Key Stage 1 pupils we encourage parents and carers into the class to help settle your child and this helps to build close relationships between home and school. If normal arrangements have to be altered eg: you are delayed or another person is collecting your child, please let the class teacher or the office know. This avoids any confusion or upset at the end of the day.
Walking, scooting or cycling is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits - it's healthier, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. We have bike racks (please bring your own lock) so that bikes and scooters are safe during the school day. If you do need to travel by car, please park considerately and safely, ensuring your obey all yellow markings around the school gates.
