LEARNING DETECTIVES

In October 2015, Dr Tom came into our school to train us to be 'Learning Detectives'. In the morning we looked at four different Learning Powers. We got into the four Learning Teams and observed each other doing different activities and learnt how to spot people who were using these powers. We then went into a class where Dr Tom led the session and we observed the children to look for evidence of the powers the class were using. During feedback sessions with Dr Tom we were able to learn how we could help others identify which powers they are using but also which powers the class needs to work on. This will help the class and the teacher to work on increasing this power in the class. Our aim is to make everyone in our school take on responsibility for their own learning.

Dr Tom also led a Parents workshop to explain to parents about the different Learning Powers.

Below is a short summary of what we will be looking for in our roles as Learning Detectives:
If you would like to find our more about our Learning Detectives, please speak with any member of our School Council or Mrs Wanless in Mercury Class.
